OUAIP staff helped our team create the beds for planting okra and callaloo. Did you know that okra has historical ties to West Africa? The cultivation and use of okra in dishes like gumbo and other stews represent a tangible link to the cultural heritage of our ancestors.

We’re grateful to our host site, Green Street Academy (GSA), for making space available for our Stewards to learn and grow. Our Stewardship Program is thriving because of great partners like GSA!

Callaloo, a Caribbean favorite, is both delicious and nutritious. It is a rich source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, and iron. The leafy greens used in callaloo are known for their health benefits, making it a wholesome addition to our diet. It's often considered a "superfood" due to its nutritional content.

We are proud of all of Taz’s accomplishments over the last year and a half. On August 28, 2023 we celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington. Since 1963, the racial wealth gap has grown significantly underscoring the need for Acres4Change and comprehensive policies and social reforms to address the deeply entrenched inequalities.
