Meet our Stewards

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our pilot Stewardship Program. We had the difficult task of selecting five Stewards from a pool of 45 impressive applicants seeking land ownership and food sovereignty. The need and demand for the Stewardship Program are enormous. Our inaugural cohort of Stewards gathered at our host site, Green Street Academy, on a cold, rainy Saturday for their first meeting and program orientation. Our guest presenter, Eric Jackson, from the Black Yield Institute, helped sow seeds of courage, empowerment, and community through his impassioned presentation on Black Food Sovereignty and Farming in Baltimore. A bright light during dark times.

Meet our amazing Stewards and follow their journey to land ownership as they:

• Gain business and farming skills through a mushroom freight farm and support from partners like Farm Alliance of Baltimore, Black Yield Institute, and Plant, Grow, Eat St. Lucia.

• Build community and work together as a team to accomplish their goals
