Partner of the Year! Innovation Works Baltimore

In 2020, when Acres4Change was just an idea, Innovation Works Baltimore (IWB) became a steadfast partner and champion of our mission. IWB, a Baltimore-based nonprofit, supports local social entrepreneurs by helping them build sustainable enterprises that drive economic and social impact in communities. IWB actively supports 160+ social enterprises in its pipeline, offering resources, mentorship, funding opportunities, and a vibrant network of changemakers.

A4C's journey with IWB began in their social entrepreneurship pipeline, where we received invaluable guidance to transform our vision into reality. They’ve not only been a funder of our work but also a continuous source of encouragement and connection.

One of the standout moments of 2024 was attending IWB’s Oasis Retreat in June—a truly transformative experience. This retreat provided an opportunity to recharge, deepen connections with fellow social entrepreneurs, and reflect on our shared goals of creating lasting change in Baltimore.

We value and cherish our partnership with Innovation Works and are deeply thankful for their unwavering support over the years. It is because of partners like IWB that Acres4Change was able to purchase land to establish Sankofa Farm Collective in West Baltimore. This Thanksgiving, we are proud to recognize Innovation Works as our Partner of the Year!

Transforming Land, Growing Community: The Sankofa Farm Collective

In Baltimore, we are reclaiming land as a source of community strength and resilience. We’re transforming a 5,000-square-foot plot into the Sankofa Farm Collective, a community micro-homestead that brings urban farming, ancestral knowledge, and community organizing together under one mission: to empower our community through food access and connection to the land. This space will serve as a hub for residents to gather, grow, and learn in a self-sustaining, vibrant environment that nourishes both body and soul.
